The Iowa High School Music Association is pleased to announce Connor Kramer of Fredericksburg, Iowa, as the recipient of the 2026 Leo H. Grether Memorial Scholarship.
Connor has demonstrated exceptional commitment to music, performance, leadership, and service throughout his high school career. An active performer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, he has consistently pursued opportunities to develop his musical talents both within his school and community.
Connor participated in the Iowa High School Music Association’s State Solo and Small Ensemble Festival and was selected for All-State recognition in Musical Theater through Large Group Speech. His accomplishments on stage include serving as Dance Captain and earning recognition as the Outstanding Performer at the Red Carpet Gala. In addition, he served as Drum Major for his school’s marching band, providing leadership and mentorship to fellow students.
As a member of his school’s Chamber Choir, Connor contributed to a performance that earned a Division I Superior Rating at festival, reflecting the ensemble’s musical excellence and dedication.
This fall, Connor will attend Wartburg College to pursue a degree in Choral Music Education. His passion for music, commitment to educational excellence, and dedication to serving others through the arts make him a deserving recipient of the Leo H. Grether Memorial Scholarship.
The Iowa High School Music Association congratulates Connor on this achievement and wishes him continued success as he prepares for a future in music education.
